About Axletrac Alignment Tools
Our Mission
At Axletrac Alignment Tools, our mission is simple: to provide American-made tools that empower fleet managers and service technicians to achieve industry-standard alignment readings with ease and precision. By promoting preventive maintenance, we help improve operational reliability, minimize downtime, and ensure the safety of truckers and everyone sharing the road.

Our Story
Founded in 2012, Axletrac Alignment Tools Inc. revolutionized the trucking industry’s approach to axle and wheel alignments. Developed and patented by Bob Hubbuch, a veteran with over 35 years of experience in trucking and trailer service, our tools combine time-tested techniques with cutting-edge design.
After retiring, Bob’s passion for innovation led to the creation of Axletrac Alignment Tools—designed to provide efficient, accurate, and affordable alignment solutions for fleets and independent technicians alike. Proudly manufactured in Southern Indiana, our products exemplify precision, durability, and American craftsmanship.
Over the years, Axletrac has earned recognition across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Australia, trusted by fleet managers, maintenance teams, and service professionals for reliable, effective alignments. Trailer manufacturers purchase Axletrac tools regularly, recognizing their value in maintaining precision alignment from production to the road. Axletrac remains a family-owned business to this day, carrying on the legacy of quality and innovation.
Today, while Bob enjoys time with his family and woodworking, Axletrac remains committed to delivering exceptional quality, service, and industry-leading alignment solutions.
Setting the Standard
Axletrac tools eliminate guesswork, reduce downtime, and ensure precision that meets and exceeds industry standards.
The Role of Axle Extenders
Axle alignment is only as accurate as the reference points used to measure it. Wheel-end extenders, axle center extenders, and axle extenders are all used interchangeably to describe Axletrac’s precision tools, which extend these reference points beyond the rim. This allows for precise, repeatable measurements that align with industry best practices.

Axle End Extenders
Securely attach to hub-piloted wheel studs, eliminating the need to remove tires, hubcaps, inflation systems, or hubodometers. This creates a solid, self-centering measurement plane, ensuring precise alignment readings.

Kingpin Extender
Establishes a true centerline reference by extending the kingpin’s measurement point, improving accuracy. Its spring-loaded centering cone and built-in level ensure a perfectly plumb, repeatable alignment setup. Engineered for durability, it is the toughest kingpin extender on the market, built to withstand heavy shop use without compromising precision.

Industry-Backed Best Practices
Leading manufacturers and the alignment industry agree that measuring axle alignment from extended wheel hubs rather than rim edges or any position inboard of the tires is the only reliable method. Using precision-made axle end extenders ensures accurate, repeatable results without the guesswork. Axletrac tools relocate the axle ends beyond the outside edge of the tires, allowing measurements to be taken without removing the outer tires. For semi-trailer alignments, all measurements originate from the kingpin, ensuring precision and compliance with SAE J875 alignment standards.
Versatility Across Trailer Types
Axletrac tools are compatible with a wide range of trailers, including:
- Pneumatic tankers

Axletrac tools also support 8-stud and 10-stud hubs, with Budd adapters available for older model hubs.
The Axletrac Difference
Axletrac is more than just a tool—it’s an alignment solution built to improve efficiency, accuracy, and long-term performance.
Heavy-Duty Durability
Built with 7/32″ thick steel tubing and 3/4″ solid steel pins, Axletrac tools are designed to withstand tough shop environments. No delicate components, no risk of misalignment from dropped tools—just reliable, long-lasting performance.
Proven Accuracy
Tested across 500+ wheel-stud positions, our alignment tools consistently maintain a measurement variance of less than 1mm—outperforming traditional alignment methods.
Fast & Efficient
No need to remove wheels or calibrate lasers. The system installs in minutes, providing precision alignment in minutes. Eliminate guesswork and costly alignment mistakes.
Designed for Real Shops
Axletrac tools are built for mechanics—easy to use, highly durable, and designed for real-world conditions.
Portable & Operator-Friendly
Designed for single-operator use, our tool is lightweight and easy to move—whether across the shop or out on the road. No need to occupy additional personnel or set up complex equipment
Trailer Manufacturers Recommend Checking Alignment Every 5,000 Miles
Most trailer manufacturers recommend axle alignment checks every 5,000 miles to maintain fuel efficiency, prevent tire wear, and extend component life. Axletrac makes these checks fast, accurate, and repeatable—without relying on expensive or unreliable laser systems.

Alignment Checks After Major Events
Accidents or Collisions – Any impact can shift axle alignment, leading to premature tire wear and steering issues.
Severe Road Conditions – Whether traveling through the icy, rugged terrain of Canada or hauling freight across long stretches of U.S. highways, rough conditions can cause misalignment over time.
Component Replacements – After suspension or steering part replacements, alignment must be verified to ensure continued safety and performance.
Reducing Driver Fatigue
Misaligned axles increase steering effort, vibration, and uneven tire wear, all of which contribute to driver fatigue. Axletrac’s precision alignment system reduces these issues, making long hauls safer and more comfortable for drivers.
Axletrac Pays for Itself
Preventing just one misdiagnosed alignment issue or a single day of downtime offsets the cost of the tool. Axletrac pays for itself from day one. Get the job done right—fast, easy, and accurate.
